Correlation between WTC and Illness?

Correlation between WTC and Illness?

I believe this to be the best place to ask this question...given that it deals with a previous emergency...

I'm wondering if you've dealt with any people who worked at Ground Zero and are now having health issues.  I'm 25 years old...and I worked for 2 weeks, first doing Search and Rescue, and then doing body recovery and cleanup.  I realize that this has been some time...but over the past 2 years (more in the last year) I've had deteriorating health...getting infections often...the most worrisome is that I've developed severe persistent asthma and have been tried on numerous meds.  It was thought to be allergy related at first...I've had high eosinophil counts, SED rates, elevated WBC, but no amount or kind of antihistamine has helped.  As a young woman, the idea of doing numerous rounds of prednisone is daunting, not that the short term side effects are bad, but the long-term can be.  I'm doing okay currently with Qvar and Foradil...but I wonder if it could be related to my working at Ground Zero...and if that is a possibility, how can that be determined?
