Entrenching tools - Disaster Preparedness

Military entrenching tools are small folding shovels with a canvas carry attachment that can be placed on a web belt or a rucksack. Handy to have in a disaster. They come in two varieties. The older has a straight handle. The latest has a trangular shaped handle. They are lightweight and may be used to shovel debri, snow, mud, or dig holes for the disposal of human excrement. In the United States they commonly sell for from $25 to $60 circa 2012 and are available at surplus stores and on the internet. Some people prefer to sharpen the digging edge with a small file.
