Maps - Flood Control

by caregiver222, Mar 30, 2009 01:01PM
It is helpful to have a U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey Map of your land because these maps contain contour lines which delineate height above MSL.  This permits you to guage your degree of danger.

The government website is at http://www.ngs.noaa.gov

This site contains aircraft imagery of areas that were previously flooded. You can click on a geographic area and see a view of what your street looked like during a previous hurricane. They don't have all the areas of the United States, nor all the hurricanes, but they are getting there.
