A Question for the guys

A Question for the guys

Weird night last night, he came home after having carefully worked out that he wasn't going to be able to afford the new life he had planned with this other woman. He was like some crazy petulant over grown child.
Crying and banging his head against the kitchen cabinets. Threatening to "just kill himself" or quit his job. He seriously freaked me out! He had been taking meds for depression, however gleefully told me the other night he hadn't needed to take them for several days.......
Any suggestions as to how to help?
The reason he cant afford this is down to the law, not me by the way
I saw this train wreck coming it is so awful to not be able to stop it when you know someone you care about will be getting hurt!!

Hi.  I'm not a guy, but if I may write to you-----  does sound like your husband is depressed.  One should NEVER abruptly stop their depression medication.  This is unhealthy and can even be dangerous.  At the very least, symptoms from abruptly stopping will occur.  Doctors recommend tapering down over time and it is always best to do it under their supervision.

So, he had an episode that sounds like it could be related to that.

You are a kind soul to want to help him.  A lesser woman would be laughing at his pain because they themselves had been hurt.

Google how to stop medication on the internet and print it for him.  Ask him to call his doctor.  They'll probably start his medication again.  And then when everyone feels he is ready to stop it, they'll taper it down properly.  I would ask him if he would like to talk to a therapist and then set the appt up for him.  He needs to talk to someone to sort out his mental health issues first and then figure out what he is doing right now.

good luck dear
