15 mo/old Chihuahua Sick/Strange

I have a 15 Month old chihuahua. I'm not sure if he has eaten anything he shouldn't have but today in the last 4 hours or so he has been throwing up, not eating or drinking at all, won't even eat his Favorite treats. He has been going back and forth vomiting and his stool looks very runny and reddish...he is usually well trained but tonight he can't even get off the bed to go to the bathroom, he just goes where he is at. He is also more shaky/shivvery then normal...being a chihuahua he is usually somewhat jittery but tonight he is shaking alot worse then normal.. I called an emergency Vet and they told me to keep him hydrated until morning. I don't know what else to do for now, just hope he makes it through the night. If anyone has any information or prior experience with this please advise.

Thea, was your vet able to see your chihuahua today?  If so, what was his diagnosis?

Its unusual that the emergency vet clinic didn't tell you to bring him in.  A tiny dog like that can get into trouble very quickly.
