2 1/2 inch swollen (lymph node?) on a Siberian Husky

by JoeShol, Apr 13, 2008 01:41AM
Hi, I just saw that my Husky has a an about 2 1/2 inch swollen lymph node? on his neck right above the shoulder, which seems pretty big and feels warm to touch.  He might have had it for some time, but with all the fur it might have been hard to notice. Right now I simply don't have the resources to go to a vet, but soon will.  Do you recommend any immediate course of action I could take?  Do lymph nodes usually swell up to be that big, or it's a sign of something very abnormal or an abscess?  Could strep infection cause such a swelling?  I don't know if he has a soar throat, but he does sneeze occasionally, although that he has been doing for a while. Any advice would help, and I know I have to take him to a vet...I'm just having a really hard time making ends meet right now.  A big thank you in advance to everyone!
