Allergic Boston

I have a 12 year old Boston Terrier, and he has a problem with nasal congestion, sneezing, and at times hes quite snotty, the older he gets the worse this seems to get, is there anything I can give him that will help? I really do not have the huge amount of money to get an allergy test for him, so I'm looking for something I can do to ease his discomfort and to help clear up his nose.

Thank you,
Carol R

I dont know much about dogs seeing as im a cat person but i did watch a show on breeds of dogs and they were saying how dogs (like a boston terrier) have breathing probs due to the face being smooshed in....

I love bostons! :) We have 2. They're 6 & 1....Nelson and Ruby! Anyhow...our dogs too are very allergic to bee stings and we give them benedryl. But you may want to check with your doc concerning dosage.

As for the sneezing and snotting (and most likely snoring if he's like my 2 lol) I really don't know what to tell you there! I feel like my oldest one needs some nasal spray and breathe right strips!

My dog is allergic to bees and whenever he gets stung my vet said I could use benadryl. You should call your vet and ask if that is something you can do for your dog? If it's okay, at least it's otc and you could probably find it at costco for a low price.
