Boston Terrier has a red bump on her face

Today I noticed a red bump on my Boston Terriers face.  I am certain that this has just developed as I am very attentive to her and am overly protective when it comes to her.  She has gotten a little "blemish" or small red bump on her chin once or twice (maybe the size of the tip of an eraser on a pencil) they always go away.  This morning I notice a red bump beside her nose.  I took her to the vet and the vet wanted to do a biopsy.  She said it could be nothing or it could be something.  She wanted to make sure. Since then I have made the mistake of googling "red bumps" on boston terriers and I have come across lengthy info on mast cell tumors, etc.  Has anyone ever had a boston with a Pimple or bump - or is this a bad situation?

I've never known a Boston Terrier, but I do have a very lumpy dog! This isn't a new thing -she's been 'lumpy' as long as I've known her! Every single lump and new bump gets throroughly checked out....I have to admit I have had a few sleepless nights over the years, have done more internet investigations than were good for me....and she has had one lump removed (which turned out to be only a small infected hair follicle) She has also had 4 breast tumor biopsies....But so far every lump has been benign.

Mast cell tumors are scary, I know. And they can happen, so it is wise to be vigilant. But the larger percentage of lumps on dogs turn out to be benign.
You did the right thing in getting this pink lump well checked-out. Are you now waiting for the results?
