Bulldog with Sezures

I have an olde english bulldog that started have sezures a couple months ago just before he turned 2 years old.  The vet put him on phenobarbatol and has increased this twice now to 2 tablets in the am and 2 at night.  Also recently added potasim bromide as the sezures did not stop and  were happening  about every 7 to 10 days, and with the last one , he had another within the hours.  
After this, the vet added the potassim and I am waiting to see if this helps.  It has been a week now so to early to tell.
Seems like alot of meds for such a young dog, is there any other recourse for me to try?

I have a 7 year old french bulldog.  He's 7.  He's been having seizures since he was a year old.                                                                                                                    Has the vet done bloodwork to check the potassium, and pheno levels?                          What dose of the 2 meds does he take?

Hi, I had an English Bulldog that had seizures too, he also had allergy problems. My vet put him on a low dose of steriods and he was fine. I don't know if the problems were related or not. He took the steriod in the summer months only. So possibly he out grew the seizures. I don't really know. Something you might mention to your vet.

When dogs start having seizures like this, the only thing you can really do is keep them in an area where they can't get hurt and wait it out. As long as they are in a safe place, the seizures don't hurt them. Sorry that is really all I can think of.
