Chewing up the house

My daughter has a new lab puppy now 6 months old that is chewing up the house and sometimes the kids.  They take him for a walk everyday after work to try to tire him out but it doesn't seem to work.  Any suggestions?

by chewing up the house do you mean inside like the furniture and such? i would buy some bitter apple spray at the pet stores or something similar to that and spray on the areas of furniture that is being chewed on. i would also make sure he has plenty of chew toys(kong balls work great esp with treats stuffed inside to keep them occupied). fortunatly i havent had a chewing problem with my 14wk old but have read tons of books from library on puppy training etc and they have great ideas. they go through teething phases so make they have plenty of toys. theres a toy called "chilly bone" and you wet it and put it in freezer and then when its frozen it makes a great chew toy
