Thanks Ginger,
Annie has no sign or redness or irritation, these tiny bumps are more cosmetic than anything. Like you said about your dogs ... a fatty deposit of some kind.
I just wondered if this was typical of hound dogs in general ...
I had a sheepdog a long time ago who did develop hematomas easily, but Annie isn't shaking her head, or scratching her ears. There is no sign of swelling, or fluids accumulating.
I do keep an eye on her since her ears are usually warm, moist and prone to inner ear infections.
Thanks so much for responding ..
Hugs,
Jenn
Well I'm not sure about the ears part of this, but my dog in the past occasionally has developed these tiny fatty lumps, exactly as you describe -not on her ears especially, but on her body in different places. I found that they could be 'popped' quite easily, and antiseptic put on straight away. I don't think they are very much to worry about.
But....ears are sensitive things with dogs. You definitely do not want these to develop into anything worse, such as infection. So do keep an eye on any of these, and if you see anything at all you don't like the look of, or any signs of her shaking her ears, itching, redness...etc, then go to the vet about it.
There would be no harm asking the vet's advice anyway, just to be sure.
