Actually we are currently out of town however I did contact our Vet and she also said it could be kennel cough, which is odd since our dog is an indoor dog and is never around other dogs. She also said it could be a nasty cold... since we cannot make it in right now she recommended I get some Benadryl and give her 1/2 teaspoon 3 times a day. Ever since we begun to give her the medicine she seems to have gotten much better. Nevertheless we will continue to monitor her and hopefully she continues to make progress if not we will definitely be visiting our Vet as soon as we get back in town. Thank you
Our Yorkie started backwards sneezing, runny eyes. I took him to the vet and he has allergies. They gave me some very inexpensive medication and I give it to him when he has symptoms. Another thing my daughter noticed is that Skippy will start backwards sneezing when he get nervous. We just hold him and talk to him until he calms down.
I don't know if they are allergy symptoms, or a respiratory infection maybe picked up from another dog. It might be best to take her to the vet.
If the vaporizer contains all the things humans use for cold symptoms (Eucalyptus/Menthol, etc), it might not be the vest thing for a dog, and cause more irritation?
She is so very small that I have to say I don't know what would be a safe but effective dose of Benadryl (in case it is an allergy) 4lbs is very tiny.
All in all, check it out with the vet, I think.
