Dog anxiety

Hello my havanesee is one years old but she has always been very anxious. She is scared at every sound and is always on guard. She is the sweetest dog with a heart of gold but she just will not calm down. The only time she does is when we put her in a crate with a blanket over it and she falls right to sleep. But when we take her out she suddenly gets all nervous and anxious. Are there anything natural i can give her so she will calm down. I have tried everything. Most of them affect the Gabba and serotonin but that usually makes thing worse. The only thing that helps is Benadryl but that is it. Any suggestions?

I've tried everything on the market today without much luck.  The meds from the Vet work very well but I don't like giving my dogs a lot of drugs.  My dog will also run to her cage and shiver until we put the blanket over it.  There is a thunder jacket out there which are pretty pricey but people rave about how  well they work so of course I purchased one. When a thunder storm started we put the jacket on her right away but she really wasn't too happy about it. I think if we stuck with it, it would have worked out but you can't keep a jacket on them at al time.  I haven't found anything else that works! Wish you luck!

Lately we have been looking for natural things to keep her anxiety down. We are going to the Vet next week. Hopefully something will help. What does a thunder jacket do exactly?
