Sk123 Hi there. We have a vet that will work with us. My concern is more towards specialist coverage's when they have to have a special test or procedures done.
Savas Hi there. Thank you for the link:

We have paid out thousands of dollars on our animals several times in the last few years. Once just in the last month. So I am one of those listed in the article that go that extra mile and then some. Each time gets a little harder to afford though. I have two senior dogs and one young one. My one dog has hepatitis so she will not be able to get coverage. With Danes the cost can add up big. Yes your right. Big dogs do mean bigger cost. I LOVE them though.
I've been trying to read up and find one that is not overly expensive nevertheless; one that will help us cover or reimburse 70-80% of the money for test or issues in the future.
I was just curious if anyone out there carried insurance on their dogs and what they thought of it. Or if they have an opinion (good or bad) on a specific one?
Thanks again; Amy ;-)

I found the link to the post with the link.
Why didn't I just post the link...?
'Cause I didn't think of it until right now!!! Argh!!! :)
Just remember; great Danes need Great Insurance!!!
You mean health insurance? I posted a link to a good article that delved into the whole pet health insurance issue. I think it's here on the dog forum as well, but I'm not sure. The post title is "A must read!"
I don't have pet insurance so I'd be interested in what others have to say as well. My dogs go to Banfield. We pay a monthly fee and it covers most of their basics, annual physical, vaccines, discounts on medications. The best part is that all office exams and follow-up appointments are covered, so no matter how small the problem, it never hurts to go check it out and we don't have to worry about the office visit fee.
