FIXING MY BABY BOY

Hi there.  My female Chihuahua has just had a litter of four boys. I would like to keep one boy.  I have been told that male dogs that live inside tend to be very frustrating as they are always peeing on anything they can.  If I did decide to keep a boy I would definatly get him fixed, so would this make a difference?

Also when I go out to visit family and friends I always take my Chihuahua with me, so I would be taking my little boy as well.  If I did get him fixed would this stop him marking his territory at other peoples places?

If fixing does not solve the problem, is there anything else you would suggest?

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you

Hmmm... I've never known dogs that do that, but I'm sure it happens.  I do know it is important to do before puberty, so as to avoid adult male dog behavior altogether.  A lot of dogs just go when they are nervous too (regardless of gender), like being in an unfamiliar or threatening place.

my baby boy was fixted and he never peed in his house but if he went to someone elsa house that had a dog he would mark his spot there /and many times at his vet he would do it to. i never had other animals in my house because of that reason didnt want him to think he had to mark up the house. not all do it but i know mine did to feel like it was his area.

Yea i have just been told that even if they are potty trained that they still tend to pee on things.  Like sort of a sign to say that he owns the place.  My friend has a male dog that is not fixed and he pees on anything that is left on the floor like bags clothes etc.

Do you mean they pee on things if you don't take them out to go?   I know a lot of indoor male dogs (all neutered before puberty) and they don't pee inside once they've been potty-trained.
