Female dog with oozy teats

We got a rescue ***** jack russell (Poppy) about 4 years ago now and when we took her to the Vets to get all checked out he thought she was around 5-8 yo and it was obvious to him that she had had a litter before.
We have recently bought a puppy jack russell (male, named Dash) 16 weeks old now and they have really taken to each other.
Poppy tends to mothers the little one and even lets him suckle from her (however we do not promote this!)
I noticed that her rear teats were a little swollen but I just thought that was because of the rough tugging they were receiving now and then.

Tonight I noticed something crusty around one of her teats and when I added a slight amount of pressure to it this pale yellow stuff oozed out, and more of a white colour substance came out of the rear ones.
We think it is just her lactating, she is not showing any other signs of pregnancy however she is not fixed!

Agree, she is probably lactating due to the suckling, which needs to be stopped.
Agree with Karla about having her checked and a good idea to see about getting her spay.

This happened to my neighbors dog. They got a puppy and the older nonspayed female dog took to it like it was her own puppy and developed milk. I think its just nature. sure glad ist only in animals...LOL...... i would get her checked out though just to be safe.

Welcome...This may be nothing more than "False Pregnancy" symptoms...However, in an Un-spayed female of this age, it's possible to be a few other things...Some very serious......Anything from Mammary Gland Infection to Mammary tumors to Cancer needs to be checked out.....All very common in Females over the age of 6 and never Spayed, I'm sorry to say.....

I wouldn't guess with this...She needs to see her Vet just to be on the safe side.....Karla
