Few questions about feeding a dog

Hi. I own a two and a half months old german sheepherd dog and i was feeding him with comercial dog food brands such are Eukanuba, Happy Dog and Pedigre...
But she dont want to eat it so i think to start feeding it with natural food. I plan to feed her with meat leftovers from meat, that is unsold and meat that people dont want to eat such
as kidneys and similar things... I also plan to introduce vegetable into her diet.

Becouse im new to all this i need some more informationm, is it wise too start feeding her like this at such a young age? And if possible some other tips...

thanx

I would stay away from happy dog. I've seen it sold at grocery stores like Albertson's, Save Mart etc. That brand was actually recalled not too long ago. I used to feed my super picky dog California Natural kibble and I would scramble an egg (plain) and mix it in, she loved that. She eventually grew out of her pickiness and now she is fine with plain kibble.

Some dogs just don't like eating kibble.  Did you ever see a kibble in Nature?  :-)  Most good commercial foods are formulated to provide all nutritional needs for the dog.  It's hard to re-create that on your own if you don't know what you're doing.  Have a look at Dr. Michael Fox's web site for an idea of what you're getting into.  http://tedeboy.tripod.com/drmichaelwfox/id19.html

Back to kibble food.  If that's all you're feeding, simply add a bit of wet food and mix it in.  That usually does the trick for tempting a finicky dog into eating.  Both Eukanuba and Pedigree have canned foods that work very well when mixed with their kibble preparations.  I don't know about Happy Dog - never heard of it - but stay away from cheap dog food.  I've seen too many dogs lose weight while being fed Ol Roy and other cheap foods.  They're more full of useless fiber than nutrient-rich food.
