Flea & Tick prevention

Hi, I am new here and I have a question pertaining to my 11lbs. rat terrier Baby, she was the runt of the litter, she has been having seizures for the past 3 years and has to take medication to control them. My question is what kind of flea & tick medication can I give her that doesn't have any kind of pesticide or anything else thats not good for her? I know that pesticides in flea & tick meds can cause seizures in animals. Her vet said he would recommend using Frontline because it didn't have any pesticides in it but I was reading up on it and it shows it has Fipronil & S-methoprene in it and Fipronil is used in a wide variety of pesticide products. So what kind should I use on her that won't hurt her? Thank you for your help.

That's a tough one. I would hesitate using a lot of the products too if the dog has a seizure disorder.  I don't know about the ingredients in Frontline affecting seizures but I think I would have to trust my Vet.
If not, you have to make sure your environment is as clean as possible to get rid of the fleas.
You might try the Skin So Soft by Avon.  Many people have had luck with that as a flea deterrent.

I have a ShihTzu that has the most sensitive skin.  If I put any of the oils for fleas on him s he spends the next 12 hours crying and throwing up.  I have started him on Comfortis. (a pill form of flea control) It's awesome. He tolerates it well and has no fleas at all.  Good luck, Ally

i use skin so soft mix some in shampoo so he not real oily its great so is baby shampoo
