Fluid under stiches area

Monday,Oct. 04,2010.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Good Morning!
I have a concern, and is related about the following stated here below:
My one (1) yr. old female Boxer dog ,(of approx. 45 pounds),went thru a small cyst surgery on its back, two (2) weeks ago.
Near the stitches area there,(and under the skin);there is a inflammation that appears to grow, or increase in its size,
plus, appear to have some sort of "fluid" inside the same. My Vet said that with the Antibiotic: "Simplicef",of 200 mg,(given once a day for seven (7) days), it should go away. But , for some reason it still there.
Can you assist me in finding how to help her heal ?
Thanks!

Your girl needed a much stronger antibiotic in the first place as a secondary infection took over it was really good you acted swiftly on nikkies advice.
I do so wish others would if they could afford it do the same.

I wonder why he gave her the same antibiotic simplicef  as the other vet again?.The long acting broad spectrum Penicillin injection is really good ....I expect he was covering all bases.Just to make sure.

Enjoy your lovely girl ....Boxers are real clowns bless them.

Thanks for taking time to reply. Yes, she did finished the 7 days.
But, it got worst. However, she did not showed symptoms of having pain. But anyway, I just came from another Vet clinic
(as I was quite worry) ,..so, I decided to have her check again by this other Vet ;..who immediately, when he see her did another surgery,.. (..this time near, but across where the fluid was observed to accumulate more).
The Vet  drained the fluid ,and left inserted under the skin a small flexible tube,(Penrose Drain),which the dog need to have in order to completly drain the fluid out from there,..which was.... pus, and blood!!!...
So, for now the Drain needs to be open for 5 full days. This Vet also gave her a Penicillin injection and a Banamine injection too. Besides that he also put her in more Antibiotics,(Simplicef 200MG) for another week. So, now I'm sure she will get well soon,...And ,..Im glad I opted for going to this other Vet!!!..And,believe me..the whole thing was quite expensive,..but it's worth it. again, THANKS!

Did you finish the full 7 day course of antibotics?Has it get worse or just did not improve? Is it making her sick is she weak and not eating or seems in pain?I would take her back to the vet and get her reevaluated maybe she needs a new antibiotics or other meds.
