Frontline and Lyme Disease

My 1.5 year old golden retriever recently contracted lymde disease, despite the monthly application of fronline plus I put on her.  Is the application of frontline, or anything like it, necessary anymore since she already has lyme disease?

She's doing really well now after the medication was given to her.  Also, are there different types of lyme disease?

I do not have the advice you need, but keep checking in w/the site and someone will post prior experiences, advice, suggestions, it may take awhile, but stay with the forum, and there are great people here to help you...

My dog had lyme a couple years ago.  I still give him frontline.  I don't think they really know whether or not dogs get immune to lyme or not (it's bacterial though, not viral, so it seems you could still get a second infection).  I would think my vet would have told me if I did not need to give it anymore.  But just to be on the safe side I still give it - I don't want to go through that again.
I don't think there are different types of lyme disease.  I have only heard of the one from deer ticks.
I am not sure where you live but lyme is really rampant in some parts of the country like here in MN.  Best of luck - I hope your pup recovers well.
