There was nothing you could have done. This was a clot, unfortunately this happens. It was very hard for you to hold gypsy in your arms at that moment. Gypsy i am sure loved you as much as you loved her. .
Gypsy had a good life with you. remember that!
Very sad day
thinking of you
I am very sorry in the loss of your pup. I know how difficult it is. Just remember the wonderful life you have given him and did everything for him...May God grant you peace at this time.
thank all of you for your kind words..and the beautiful poem. I did tell my husband and my son the last night they were in ny which was very late after I'd posted about Gypsy on here. They were both as devistated as I ..my oldest son..and my mother in law who lives with us. I am glad I told them..before they got home. I know coming home every day right now is something I dread. There is no wagging tail..no jumping up to greet me..no following me like a shadow and no more cuddling up with her just to share a few moments letting her know how much she's loved..and knowing she adored us. I miss her so much.
I'm so sorry for your loss, We lost our loving dog , so I know the loss that you feel. My sister sent me this poem and I just have to pass it along.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so sorry.....My thoughts are with you. I am sorry your going through this alone. I think you should tell your husband. You need support. You sound like a wonderful dog owner and I am not aware of anything you could've done to prevent a clot.
I'm sorry about your dog. Pets are family. I think you should tell your husband and son.
It will be hard for them but less shocking than coming home expecting to be greeted by the dog.
I am very sorry. It must have been a devastating experience to have her die suddenly that way. Please don't feel guilty, you did nothing wrong and there was surely no way you could have known she had a problem.
I think you should tell your husband and son, but it's your call.
I hope you can get some rest.
I am So Sorry. I'm not going to be able to respond right now, as I'm crying with you. Please know that your in my prayers and I wish you some Peace...Sincerely, Karla
