HELP! dog started limping

I have a 1.5year old terrier mix thats about 15 lbs. When I got him out of the crate about an hr ago he was walking fine, then I took him outside. I also had my two other dogs outside so unfortunately I wasnt watching what patch was doing. When patch came up on the porch he looked like he fell on the steps, he was using his front paws to pull him self up onto the porch, thats all I saw. Then he was not putting his back left paw down. I tried massaging his leg and to put his leg on the groud. He was able to stand there with all paws on the floor but when he walks he only using one back leg.  Hes been just laying down , trying to sleep.  Not sure what to do since I dont get paid til friday so vet isnt an option right now. Please help

Poor little guy,if he is eating and drinking ( as Margot asked)
he should be ok until Friday( if not better by then but also as
she said,you would know best what to do if Patch is still not
using his leg by then.)
He may have pulled something the wrong way,run and turned
his leg or foot wrong(?) but if he will not just lay down,stay in
on place perhaps he needs to go back in his crate to rest the
leg. Be sure carry him out to potty every few hours and he
can eat and drink in his crate. DO NOT let him walk up or
down the steps,carry him out to potty then pick him right up
and bring him inside.,,the idea is to keep him off his leg as
much as possible to rest it. IF he just strained it which can
happen.

Can you determine that the leg isn't broken? Will he let you move the leg at the hip joint?  If he isn't acting like he is in severe pain, will eat and drink. I would try keeping him quiet and only take him out to potty.  You know your dog best so you would have to make a judgement call as to if he needs the Vet.
