Help???

My dog Bear is 4 yrs old and he is part St. Benard and Part Lab today all of a sudden he was outside for a few hrs and had spilt his water, so when he came in he drank like Crazy and then threw up and then did that 2 more times. He is very weak and just looks pitiful and lathargic. What do you think is wrong? I called a 24 hr vet and he said that he may have gotten over heated and when he came in he drank to much to fast and then that is what upset his stomach, he is laying in my room and doesnt want to move I just bought him in some water, but only let him have alitte at a time, which is what the vet said to do. I am so worried about him. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem. Symptoms doesnt want to eat just drink alot and fast and then vomits. Very lathargic.

Bear was doing much better the next day I did contact the vet and he said to wait till morning to see how he was doing. We are still not sure if it was the heat or he ate something bad. His stomach was not right for at least 4 days(alot of gas). But I am pleased to report, he is happy and himself again.

                                             thanks everyone

I agree with peek about the bloat.  It seems like it happened so fast.  Could he have eaten  something toxic?

IMHO, you should get him to a vet asap.

Definitely check his gums...grey to white means in shock.  Please contact your vet asap!

You may be looking at heat stroke.  Get him to a vet NOW!  Heat stroke is a medical emergency, and death can come quickly.  Soak him down with cool water before you get going.  Check his gums - if they're white, he is in shock and you have no time to waste.

How is he now?  He could be bloating.  I'd get him right in to your vet if he's not improved.
