IS MY MALTESE PREGNANT?

I recieved my "Maltese" on Mother's Day (as a gift).  She came from a distant relative who states she is 3yrs old this summer.  They also stated, she had miscarried 3 wks prior.  In the home were other dogs including a male yorkie approx 4lbs.  Emmalee is 5.2lbs (the maltese)  I think she may have gotton pregnant prior to me getting her by this male yorkie.  She is very clingy to me (mom) and not anyone else in the house (dad, 2 kids)  I litterally cannot go anywhere without her in my arms.  Today I noticed she looked "full" and her nipples, when pinched gently, excrete small white discharge.  How do I know if she is pregnant for sure, prior to her Vet appt??

Thanks for any info.

Oh man!!! Maybe someone will help and post also...but, keep your calendar marked, and/or wait for that xray, that will tell whats in the tube for head count, but, don't get too many xrays, one maybe two maximum...it can cause a problem..
Do you know anyone who is a breeder??? Call them and talk to them about your situation and see what they say....if you don't know one, look in the newspaper, where they have puppies for sale, see if your breed is there, and call that person to see if they are a breeder and can help you...
Keep me posted, I know your frustration...
Down between the 2 hind portions on belly is the tummy gettin fuller and firmer???
When pups move in the belly, its look like a little wave, you can keep your hand on tummy and feel it..but thats towards the end...the teets get larger and fuller also...

Well after a "falling out" with my vet, I have found a new one and EmmaLee has her 1st appt on this Sat.  She will have a complete physical and x-ray for puppy count (if doc feels she is far enough along).  Thanks for leaving messages, we will keep you posted.

Hi

Once again I agree with chihuahuagrandma.  Take her to the vet - the dog, I mean not chihuahuagrandma.

If your dog had lost her puppies only three weeks before you got her, I doubt she would have any signs of having another litter.  The milk "should" have dried up by now.  She could still have puppies that were not expelled with the others.  She needs a vet to determine this.

Let us know how she is doing.

With the history of miscarried, did she see vet after miscarrying? Maybe she didn't loose all the pups?? Its very difficult to give any suggestions because of the history, she should really see a vet asap...dogs are even more clingy when they don't feel good or scared or know that something different is going to take place, like a birth, or new home, or she just loves you so very much and now you've got your new best friend.
Not sure for you whats going on with your little one, but, definetly go to the vet with your concerns to be safe...
Please keep us posted, much luck to you and yours, give your pet a big hug for me too!
