Is Broccoli bad for dogs?

I read somewhere that broccoli is toxic to dogs. My dog likes eating the stem/root of broccoli sort of like a bone.
He prefers fruits and veggies over his own dry dog kibble.

Can someone please provide me with a safety list of fruits/veggies for dogs. I keep getting hearing mixed information; about broccoli and almonds and more.

There are other things too which aren't on my list....raisins, sultanas, grapes, and quite a few herbs, and they really shouldn't have salt either, so best stay away from giving a dog any "human food" as humans often make recipes with many things which are bad for dogs

I really don't know about tomatoes...but I don't give them to my dog as I am unsure.
Seeds....well I do know that apple seeds are definitely toxic as they contain cyanide! Apples are fine, but just no cores or seeds. (Some dogs can't tolerate apples, though my dog loves a small amount and it doesn't do her any harm)
Also peach kernels are dangerous.

THINGS WHICH ARE TOXIC FOR DOGS

Alcohol: Can cause intoxication, coma, and death.

Avocado (all parts or tree)

Baby food: Can contain onion powder, which can be toxic to dogs.

Baking Powder: In large amounts, can cause an electrolyte imbalance – and severe electrolyte imbalances can lead to muscle spasm or even congestive heart failure.

Baking soda: In large amounts, can cause an electrolyte imbalance – and severe electrolyte imbalances can lead to muscle spasm or even congestive heart failure.

Bones: Can cause obstruction or laceration of the digestive system.

Broccoli: Toxic in large amounts.

Caffeine: Affects the heart and nervous systems.

Cat Food: Too high in protein and fats.

Chocolate: Contains Theobromine, which affects the heart and nervous systems.

Citrus oil extracts: Causes vomiting.

Coffee or coffee grounds: Affects the heart and nervous systems.

Dairy: Some adult dogs and cats do not have sufficient amounts of the enzyme lactase, which breaks down the lactose in milk. This can result in diarrhea. Lactose-free milk products are available for pets.

Eggs (raw): Can result in a thiamine (a B vitamine) deficiency leading to loss of appetite, seizures, and in severe cases, death. More common if raw fish is fed regularly.

Fat Trimmings: Causes pancreatitis.

Fish (raw): Can cause salmonella.

The way I look at it, dogs are predominantly carnivores, and so need meat or fish. But a few veggies are good for them and help their digestion and add some vitamins to their diet. My dog likes carrots, peas, cabbage greens, spinach, apples, green beans. I add these to her meat or fish, and she has a dry food as well. Sometimes I give her an egg too.
But there are definitely some vegetables and fruits they should NOT have, such as avocadoes, grapes and raisins, sultanas, etc. Those are definitely toxic.
Broccoli, I believe is OK in very small amounts, and not all the time. I'm a little unsure about whether it's right for my dog or not, so I leave it out (though I know she would eat it and probably enjoy it)
