Is my vet stupid?

I have 2 boxers. Jersey and Stephie. Jersey starting having diarrhea real bad then he started coughing so hard he was dry heaving and nothing was coming out. So we went to the vet. He said he wasn't sure what was wrong n put him on some antibiotics n something for his stomach. That night the coughing got worse and kept us up all night. Took him back the next day n the vet said he had tracheitis and it wasn't an infection it was mechanical? Gave him a shot and another medicine. He's feeling better now but now Stephie is having the same cough. So I'm gonna have to take her to the vet in the morning. If it wasn't an infection how did it pass to my other dog??? I think its kennel cough but I'm no expert. Obviously the experts dont even know what to do.

Your vet has done the right thing as Jersey is on the way to recovery.
It sounds like a Viral infection which is catching ! if it is kennel cough that means you did not inoculate for it make sure your inoculations are up to date.
Do not go near any other dogs until this problem is resolved.To prevent a relapse make sure your dogs are kept warm.
Ask your vet any questions that are worrying you, did you mention kennal cough???that has to be caught from another infected dog who have they been in contact with.
I think your vet will  change his prognosis, but hey as long as Jersey is getting better that is what counts.

Well it was kennel cough. We saw the other vet in the office. She's on meds n got a shot. They haven't even been around any other dogs, but he said that they could've gotten it from running the fence with a neighbor dog.
