Joint pain spray advertised on TV--Does it Work???

I have a shih tsu/yorkie mix that is 15 years old.  She was always a very active dog until one time she jumped out of my arms as I was putting her down and she tore her ACL.  I took her to the vet and they stated it could not be repaired and that she would really develop arthritis from the injury.  Well, true to their diagnosis, she slowed down terribly and has gained a bunch of weight.  She has foggy eyes and has trouble seeing.  She doesnt appear to be in pain and she gets around fine but really super slow. I recently saw a spray advertised on tv that you put in their water and it helps joint pain and allows the dog to get around much better.  Do these sprays work?  Any suggestions regarding a medication that is superior to allow her to live the remainder of her life relatively pain free?  I currently give her aspirin (not Acetaminophen or Ibuproprin) but I hesitate to give it too often because I am afraid it will be hard on her stomach.

Hi,
You can look up info online about "Adequan" shots. Ask your vet. it's for doggie arthritis. Did wonders for one of my older boys I had. They can be a bit pricey per shot, I think it was $30-40 per shot when I did it, but this was several yrs ago. And at first he got them every 2 weeks, then once a month, then every couple months. it really just depends on your dog. Some need it weekly all the time, some every 3-4-5 months.
But it really helped. it is injected right into the muscle, and it lubricates the joints instead of just masking the pain/inflammation. it is like a liquid glucosamine, that vitamin used for joints also.
Take care ;)

Humans 1 tsp per glass of orange juice
Dog depends on size and put in food or piece of cheese
It helps w/joint, arthritis, scar tissue, cartlidge, take a month to see the difference, but it does help alot...
