Labrador pup - pink around the mouth and hair loss around eyes
My 2-month old pup was being treated for his ear infection and then developed this condition where he now has no hair around a patch near his mouth (the whiskers area) and has lost hair around his eyes and the hair loss around the eyes is getting worse in particular.
We use a stainless steel dish for his meals and are feeding him Drools and Cerelac. The vet said we are not cleaning his mouth well after he has his meals and has dermatitis, but its been a week since we've been applying cream to his infected area and he's getting antibiotic injections every other day :( Are we missing something? :(
(The black around his eyes is the portion on the snout that is supposedly healing)
Shyam, What you describe is classic of Mange....The mouth issue could be Yeast, but the age of your dog leads me to Mange...If you have not seen your Vet again, you need to...If your Vet just guessing or have you had any testing done? Ask for a SKIN SCRAPE to determine Mites, Yeast or bacteria....It's a simple test and affordable....I think this is Mange and the earlier treatment begins, the easier it is to treat....
