Large lump in Lilly's ear

My pup Lily is a cross breed, with floppy ears, I have found a boil/cyst like lump near her ear canal/bone ridges, it was small and pink to begin with but now it is dark red/purple and hard about the size of a ten pence piece. She wont let me touch it now to clean the area and is very quiet which is so unlike her , she is 11 months old now. I would just like to know what it could be as I cant get appoinment with our vets, as they dont class this as an emergency, im worried it is going to burst and dont know if it is connected to a blood vessel. Hope you can help!! Thankyou in advance

Thanx for your comment. I am seeing a vet on Tuesday, and it can't come quick enough. Lilly has had this lump for a couple of months but as it didnt bother her first vet told me too leave it, which thanks to your advice and research starting point this is advice given.
But we know our babies don't we she has lost weight despite eating like a horse is very lethargic and this lump has now got bigger and darker in colour, she won't let me touch her ear where before she was great about ear cleaning. Just so worrried why this is happening so thanks again for your response

Sounds like its a hematoma.  Please see your vet as soon as they can get her in.   If it does burst, place a thick, absorbant bandage or pad in her ear, and wrap the ear with an elastic bandage to put pressure on the area,

I'm sure she's in pain.  Call around and see if another vet can get her in.
