Limping

We put a hot spot collar on our yellow lab to prevent him from licking his back left paw. We used this type of collar instead of the Renaissance collar usually provided by veterinarians. When we removed it this evening, our dog is limping on his right front leg. We can move the leg, feel his paws, and does walk on it, but will favor or lift the leg when walking or resting. What could be wrong? I plan to take him or call the vet tomorrow, but was just wondering if anyone might have a clue of what is wrong?

I did a little looking and found a "sport collar".. that is the electric shock collar if I understand correctly the use of that label... but I see you say "spot" collar.

Sorry, I am ofter here more to learn than help, maybe my questions will help others reply.

Good luck.

I have no idea what a "spot collar" is.  I know my terrier will fight me putting a E-collar on him.  He has some skin problems (Yeast) that may be food allergy related and I have tried to use the Elizabethan Collar to stop the licking/chewing.

Do you think there is some way a spot collar could injure a leg?
