Lost use hind legs suddenly!!!!!!

My 3 year old ChiShih (Chihuahua/Shih Tzu) Roxxie, approximately weighs 5-6lbs. She had Parvo as a 5 month old pup, weighing a mere 2.5lbs. She spent a week at the vet clinic and to our surprise fully recuperated. I only mention this in case it may have something to do with what is going on with her now.
Four days ago she started favoring one side of her body, not much just slightly and it appeared at the time that maybe she had sprained her front leg. By the next day she had quit jumping up and down on the bed and couch. Last night she suddenly can not use her back legs...AT ALL!!  She is eating, but being hand fed, drinking water, but from a dropper, she has urinated, but all over me and herself, no bowel movements and seems to be in pain because she is shaking. I live in a small city so the Vet office is not open on weekends. I  know I could take her for an emergency visit, but to be honest do not have the money. I plan to take her first thing in the morning. I have been giving her a half of an 81 mg aspirin every 6 hrs. Is there anything else I should be doing? I need help...PLEASE!!!

I carried Roxxie to my Vet office first thing last Monday morning. Her regular vet was booked so had to see someone never seen before. He diagnosed her with basically degenerative disk with pinched nerve and gave her less than 50/50 chance of ever walking again. He started her on 2.5mg of Prednisone, Tramadol for pain, and Pepcid to protect her stomach from the Prednisone. By Thursday morning Roxxie was worse, she can now can not use her front legs either. I called the office and talked to the tech and told her my concerns. After her regular vet looked over her charts and xrays she called me and asked me to bring Roxxie back in. She diagnosed Roxxie with Meningoencephalitis. She put her on 20mg prednisone, Clindamycin, and Doxycycline. It could be a very slow process for Roxxie and us. She is still eating, drinking, pooping, and peeing, but she is also still lifeless. She does not seem to be in pain. I don't know what to do.....Our Vet has always been honest with us over many years and many pets, of when it is time to put to sleep and she doesn't recommend it yet. I just don't want Roxxie suffering.

Sorry to read of you pup's problems, your problems.

I hope you are able to contact the vet this morning and can lets us learn from what you are told.

Keeping your dog hydrated is important, as you obviously know.

The only thoughts that come to my mind on such a young dog is a fall or other physical accident... but as it seems to be progressive I wonder if a digestive problem is more likely.

Has your dog eaten anything unusual?

Hope for the best and simplest outcome/solution.
