Male Jack Russell peeing in house

Hi,

I have a 4 year old fixed male jack russell.  I keep finding him raising his leg in the house and peeing on furniture, doors and curtains.  What would be the best way to break him of this terrible behavior?

You shouldn't spank a dog when they do anything wrong.  To stop marking, when you see a dog about to mark say "Ah, ah", then take the dog outside, when they mark or pee outside praise them.

Dear Your Jack really need to learn discipline!!! whatever is the cause, because pets can be a big trouble to your /your family's health when shows Vices.

Few Suggestions/Handheld tricks:

The funny thing which you had on the top as an answer is really helpful believe me. First observe your jack keenly which r the places he spoiled, chnge the places of that objects infront of him. Whenever he try to spoil say some bitter to him you know even animals have there self respects!!! After talking with him badly remove the thing which he spoiled infront of him out of the home and take him with you during. Clean the peeeing from the onject with strong disinfectant infront of him every time atleast for few days ofcourse with bad words towards him.

If this is not working than keep some cloth or mat at the place where he is peeing than take the same out of the home at the spacefied place where you want that he should peeing every time till he stops the act and increase the frequency of taking him to the place where he should do the peeing and fix one or two places if it is outside your sweet home.

I guess this will work of course you have to do some efforts but is always better to do so at the place of keeping dog with vices. Always keep in mind that you have to make him feel guilty whenever he is doing bad thing and you must have to appreciate him on doing good things just like our child.

Sorry i think i wrote too much pl. don't get confused ask any time for any help.

Gud nite

Oh, these boys!!!  Could be any number of reasons.  Any new pets in the house, even new furniture, etc?  Sounds like he is marking territory.  I  have a male Greyhound that will mark the coffee table in the living room. I keep a pen across the doorway when not home.  It could be separation anxiety (why our dog probably does it).  You can try training but you have to catch him in the act and correct him and take him outside.  You can try confining him to certain areas when you aren't  home. You can try using belly bands (do a Google search). Make sure you clean the spots he has marked well, best to use vinegar and water first.

Funny.  Just yesterday my husband said that our dog has been going upstairs and hiking his leg on the legs of the table and chairs in the kitchen.  He's never done this stuff before.  I don't know where it's coming from.  Just turning into an old man I guess.  He'll be 7 in August.
If I saw him do it, I'd spank his butt..but I don't see him doing it..guess I have to start following him around.  (We also have two other dogs in the house..but we are sure it's him..b/c one of the other one's is too old and fat to lift his leg..and the other is his sister)

Get rid of all your furniture, doors and curtains. That should do the trick!

Kidding;-)

I've never had a male dog (always had females as the whole 'marking' thing is a little too much for me), but I've heard it's pretty difficult to break them of it.

He's fixed and he's still marking? That's odd.

I'm sure someone will come along and post with some helpful hints.

Sorry I can't be of more help!!!
