Please include your dog's age - and the type of dog it is - and whether you have observed any other symptoms, changes in behaviour, any change in eating patterns, increased lethargy, sleeping more, vomiting, etc. This information will help us offer you more information about what may be happening to your dog. The two main reasons why dogs lose muscle mass are the natural aging process and disease.  Is your dog losing muscle mass?  And if so, can you please provide some details so that we can get a better picture of what is happening?

Hi...I wish I could answer your question better, but honestly I really don't know much about what can cause the loss of muscle mass.
There are a few things that I do know of, they are......
Old age
Thyroid problems
Cushings Disease and
The use of Steroids.
Hopefully other members who are more knowledgeable in this area will be able to answer your question in depth.
Please check back often, as others may answer.
Best Wishes...Connie
