No need now. The poor creature died just now.
I thank you for you sympathy and advices.
Oh, so sorry to read this. Search these forums for kidney disease and diet, may help. I still don't understand giving Ipecac. Can you give Oepcid?
The nerve is not the real problem. The real cause of its illness is its 4 years old kidney disease which has reappeared. That is why it is not eating anything and vomits or passes stool even after giving water.
Four years ago its kidney got badly affected. It managed to survive at that time but the vet had said that it would not live for long. The same disease reappeared now and the vet has said there is no cure now and it would die soon.
Poor creature is waiting for its death and we are helpless.
Wow, most of those meds I never heard of and would have to look them up!
He is getting all these meds for nerve damage?
Ipecac is usually given to induce vomiting.
I am totally confused.
Maybe get a second opinion?
Due to the age, possibly something else going on that's why I asked if a complete blood panel was done.
Please keep us updated and hoping things improve.
The pain is in its right paw. The vet confirmed it might be due to nerve damage. No growth or blockage is there. The vomit problem developed afterwards. The following medicines have been given to him - micofall, Hydroxocobalamin, Dexamethasone, Meloxicam, Mecobalamin, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Pyridoxine- Folic acid complex.
For pain he has been given Voveran earlier but since allopathy medicine were not soothing him, the vet switched to homeopathic medicines. Just now they are giving him Ipecac, Symphor race and Chelidonium.
At present he vomits even if water is given to it. He is unable to digest anything.
Love Paps and sorry about your little one.
I would be more concerned about the vomiting with traces of blood than him not eating.
Was the nerve damage confirmed by the Vet? Was he given anything for pain?
Has the Vet done any blood work and/or x-rays? Perhaps he needs a scope done to see if they can determine the source of the bleeding, make sure there are no growths or blockages, etc.
You can try some nutritional supplements, paste, you can get from your Vet but it is important that he gets fluids.
You might try feeding some tripe, if not fresh, they do sell canned tripe for dogs. That is nutritious and most of them love it. I would not give any milk products.
Sounds like he needs a good evaluation by the Vet and soon.
Good luck and please keep us updated.
