My dog has severe diaherra

My toy poodle has had diaherra for almost a week now ....we've called the vet and they can't see us til next week...we've tried giving her cottage cheese and using pepto bismol....but nothing seems to be helping...After she goes to the bathroom she vomits as well and it's yellow colored.

Anybody expericend the same problems?????

Ditto to everything that everyone else has said!   Toy dogs can dehydrate in 24 hours, your poodle cannot wait even another day, let alone a week, to see a vet with diarrhea like this!  Just get out the phone book and start calling vets until you find one that says "come on in!" and there you go!

Please post back and let us know the outcome.  Good luck to you!

Any vet who, when told a toy poodle has these symptoms, and then tells you to wait a week, should not be in business!

I agree with Red, you should find yourself a new vet.

I agree. Get to an animal emergency hospital immediately or another Vet in the area! Your dog is in very serious distress. Diarreaha for that long is bad, let alone the dog is bringing up what is probably bile.

After this is over you need to find a new Vet also. I don't know if they told you to give the dog Pepto Bismol, but you should not give that to a dog.

Please get that dog medical attention right away!

Please keep us updated.

You must either go to the emergency vet immediately, or call your vet back and tell them that this is an emergency and you must be seen this morning.

A toy poodle is going to get extremely ill very fast.  This IS an emergency.

Hi..My Mini poodle also had the same symptoms plus a seizure.  She had Pancreatitis & they kept her for four days in the hospital & she did get better.  Read my posts to see what happened..which may be my very first or second post.
Please don't wait another day. Take your baby to any emergency Vet..Animal Hospital. How dare your Vet tell you to wait till next week. Your dog is probably dehydrated by now. She needs help quickly.
Please keep us posted on her progress & she will be in my thoughts.
