My dog is acting depressed

I'm very worried and puzzled and wonder if anyone out there can help me.  I have a 1 year old Staffie who lately seems to be displaying quite strange behaviour.   Every morning and throughout the day when we are at home she appears depressed.  She walks around with her head bowed, ears back and tail down.  However, she is eating, drinking and going toilet as she should.  Plus she goes mad running when I take her to her favourite field every day to play catch with her ball.

She loves people and other dogs and is always happy and wagging her tail jumping up.  It seems like two different dogs.   She was spayed in September because she was sooooo depressed when she was in season.  She always has someone at home with her and gets lots of fuss and attention.  She sleeps a lot too and seems alert.

I'm confused and worried as I fear she may be ill for some parts of the day and totally fine other times.  Is there anyone who can help me out here as I just hate seeing her like this.  I know that if I take her to the vets he will be really excitable and nothing like she is at home!....thanks

Jerry makes a good point.  It just may be boredom and lack of stimulation if she seems fine and plays so hard other times.  At 1 year old, she is still a puppy.
Do you, or have you tried a good morning walk?  Try to take even 10 mins a few times a day to engage her in play, fetching a ball, etc.
you might try getting her a couple of large, hard Kong toys you can fill with treats or peanut butter to keep her amused.
I assume she is up on ***** and wormings?  Is she spay? I hope so.  If not, has she or is she due to come in season?
I would not be too concerned, at this point.  If any other symptoms develop, a Vet visit might be a good idea.
Please come back and update.

At first I thought pain, but a young dog shouldn't have any arthritic problems, and given the rest of your story I see she is active...doesn't sound like pain.  Maybe she is bored. Needs more high activity in her day.  Just a guess and think I would not be too worried (whatever that means...depends on the person and all the facts, which I don't have).
