My labrador has small bumps all over his body

I live in India and it gets really hot here, recently my dog was scratching his body almost every time and i thought it might be happening because of heat so I got his hair trimmed. But, after the trimming I saw small bumps all over his body and because of the scratching some bumps are bleeding. I asked a doctor and he told me to put betaine ointment on those bumps, but he is still scratching those bumps and they are getting worse. What should I do now?

Are they large or small? Bumps or welts? Do they look like bites from insects or fleas? Do you mean Betadine?  Did the Vet suggest giving an anti-histamine? You can give Banadryl, 1 mg per pound.  Did he suggest some Pred? Have you changed foods?  Try bathing in diluted Baking Soda and tepid water. Keep away from the eyes.
