I am concerned about my 3 month old Golden doodle who was very active since I got him 2-3 weeks ago. Yesterday he started throwing up, he is still drinking water but wont eat. I took him to the vet today, They think its just something he ate because he was acting his usual rowdy self and took a treat from her. They gave him a shot to stop the vomiting and some antibotics and I gave him a dose tonight. He still isnt eating his dog food but will eat a treat. However I am afraid to give him to many because they think maybe the new treats I bought was something different to his system and caused the vomiting. He is now dizzy and falling over but is still able to be stimulated to play sometimes. Is it because he hasnt eaten and is week? Should I give him something else that he will eat or will I make the problem worse by changing his food? His stool isnt runny and he had his first round of shots but it is too early for the second shots. I bought him from my niece who has the mother Golden doodle. He did fall yesterday while running in the snow he tripped and fell down the small hill, his feet went out from under him and his chin hit the concrete, but he doesnt seem to be in pain from that. I dont know if that is related to his problems. He seems to be weak and dizzy from not eating and it is usually his bedtime now. Since he hasnt eaten today I woke him up, the more awake he became he seemed to improve but the dizziness stayed. I dont want extra vet expenses if I havent given it enough time to work, but I dont want to wait too long and have him suffer. He seemed better at the vets, and its late at night so I will wait to see how he is in the morning. If he hasnt changed I dont know what to do. How long should I give the medicine to work and is there something I can give him to help him eat and have nutrients that wont make his stomach problems worse if that is the cause? I have never experienced something like this, my other dog is an older chihuahua and has never had any problems like this. Please help, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
