Our 5 month old was spayed yesterday morning.  She is still acting pretty drugged up, or perhaps she's in a lot of pain or just uncomfortable.  What can I do to help her?  Warm, wet cloth on her sutures?  Rimadyl?  Thank you!

mymomsdog - you need to hire an animal behaviorist to explain the dog's behavior to your mother, and why calm, assertive discipline is so important when we live with dogs.

Beccapoe - She just had a hysterectomy!  She needs time to rest and heal.  If rimadyl was prescribed, then use it.  Don't let her go tearing around the house or outside for a couple days.  You don't want any of her sutures to pop open.  To post to Dr. Cheng, you have to go to the Ask a Vet forum at the link posted above in the original post.
