Not a question just a statement

Yesterday we sent our german shepherd named sky to the rainbow bridge. She was the most gentle loving dog I ever had. She had alot of problems when we adopted her but they seemed managable until we gave her a flu vaccine last month she was never the same she developed a condition called autoimmune anemia there is another name but I can't spell it so I will leave it out. She never responded to the Prednisone she would not eat she slept all the time and had no quality of life. Yesterday she could barely walk so we set her free now her pain is over and ours is just begining. If your pet has health issues please question your vet before this vaccine from what I have read this was probably the trigger.

Oh, Ginger, what a wonderful dream!  How lucky you are to have experienced it!

To skysmom111, my most sincere sympathies on the loss of your Sky.  No matter how long we have them with us it is never long enough.  Treasure the memories you have of your girl, keep her in your heart and she will always be with you.

I am so sorry to hear about your girl.....she is free now. And you are very sad. I actually believe there IS such a place.
It's a long story so I'll make it shorter.
I had a dog put to sleep because he had late stage cancer  (1999) Afterwards I was so bereft, I went into a little church and prayed for help, asking if he was OK....I felt nothing, had no visions, no hopes, no particular belief (and I had never heard of "The Rainbow Bridge")
Early the next morning I dreamed he was running free in such a wonderful landscape of rolling green hills. There were many other dogs there, playing, happy, healthy, free. He saw me and overjoyed, rushed up to greet me, wagging and happy. I touched his head, and panting with exertion, he swung around racing after a little King Charles Spaniel he was playing with. He glanced back at me, then turned and kept on running.

That has always stayed in my mind as being something very precious to have experienced.

I'm so sorry to read this.  I checked back and your dog was being treated for Lupus?  We were discussing the vaccine not long ago and, from what I read, it is supposed to be relatively safe with little chance of side effects.  That being said, any vaccines should probably not be given to an animal with an already compromised immune system.
Given a choice, I would probably opt to not give this vaccine and know that you sharing your experience may help someone in the future.
Run free, sweet girl and have fun with our friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
hugs
