Not eating

my dog has stopped eating parts of his regular food and leaves it all over the floor so he can pick out the pieces that he likes. He has always eaten the same food.  he keeps trying to eat poop and likes to get into the bathroom garbage and eats the used tissues and feminine products. And the last time he got the garbage he had diarriha really bad.  Stool is still loose but has some form.

What kind of food do you feed him?  Which pieces is he eating and which ones is he leaving out?  

The behavior of eating feces is called coprophagia.  Studies have shown that dogs that exhibit this behavior are often lacking vitamin B.  In the wild, eating feces would provide a wild dog with the nutrient(s) that it was lacking.  As disgusting as it is to us, it's a perfectly natural behavior.  Mother dogs eat the feces of their puppies so that in the wild, the smell doesn't lead predators to their den.  Dogs adore "shopping" in the litterboxes of their cat housemates because cat food is much sweeter tasting than dog food and thus, the cat feces tastes sweet to them as well.  Sometimes dogs will eat their own poop in an attempt to keep their area clean and make themselves "invisible" to predators.  If, when you catch your dog eating poop, you run over to him to make him stop, it could be that he's doing it because he desires your attention and he knows that by doing that, he is sure to GET your attention.  Even negative attention is desirable if you're desperate for someone to pay attention to you.

There are several things you can do to get your dog to stop eating poop.  Feeding them a chunk or two of pineapple will make their poop taste bad to them and therefore they won't desire it the way they normally do.  Feeding your dog a high quality dry kibble with all of the nutrients he needs will also help, because it he's eating the poop with the intention of getting the nutrients he lacking, feeding him a high quality dry food will provide him with those nutrients so he won't have to seek them out on his own.  It would also help to give him a good vitamin or nutritional supplement as well.

The other thing you need to do is pick up the poop as soon as he goes so that iot's not laying around for him to find and eat.  Keeping the bathroom trash where he can't get to it will prevent him from eating tissues and feminine products.  You're going to have to be diligent and stay on top of things to make sure there's no poop laying around and the garbage is in a place that is inaccessible to him.
