Panting at night in crate

My dog had been peeing in the middle of the night in the great room, so out vet told us to crate her.  He gave her some anti-anxiety medicine that she has been on for 2 weeks, but she pants all night and then starts crying hours later and we let her out and she pees outside then and sleeps outside of the crate. My husband and I are hardly sleeping.
