Puppy passed away... help???

I got my puppy from a breeder on Monday night. I noticed diarrhea when we took her out the first time (breeder's home), but didn't think much of it. Puppy was still having diarrhea on Tuesday, so I took her into the vet on Tuesday afternoon. Puppy was diagnosed with hookworms, roundworms, and lice... and tested negative for parvo. Dewormers were given.

Puppy was still not doing well Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, so the vet suggested a hospitalization observation for all day Wednesday. Vet gave puppy another parvo test, also negative. Puppy was discharged with nutrient rich food.

Same symptoms continued on Thursday, with pup sleeping a lot. Thursday night, puppy was beginning to have very watery diarrhea, and Friday morning puppy was seeming almost incontinent, so back to vet. Still negative for parvo.

Vet tried to give IV for fluids, but noticed low circulation and could not find a viable vein. Vet told us to rush to emergency dog clinic immediately. Puppy suffered cardiac arrest in the car, and after two rounds of CPR at emergency clinic, puppy passed away.
Do I have any legal action against breeder? No written contract and no necropsy. She is blaming my family and saying that "whatever we did to the dog is our fault."

Oh, I am so sorry and these situations maje me so angry!
Karla is spot on.  I showed dogs for some years, did some breeding and puppy referral for our Breed club.  Any Reputible breeder is going to give some type of health guarantee and a record of ant medical treatment such as de wormings, shots, etc.  most breeders, myself included, always have contracts.  I take it this "breeder" is not taking responsibility or offering a refund.  It is obvious, unfortunately, you purchased a sick puppy.
Parvo tests can show a false negative but if this pup was infested with that many parasites, that could have easily been the cause.  A ne roost may or may not have shown the actual cause.
Was anyone with you at this person's house that saw the puppy have the diarrhea?  You did take the pup to the Vet the next day.  You could try getting a written statement from your Vet.  There is no way that pup became infested that quickly.  You could collect what evidence you do have and file a Small Claims case.  You could ask for the amount you paid for the pup and your medical expenses.  Of course, it would be up to a judge but might be worth a try and would not be that expensive to do.
Agree with Karla to get the word out about this person.  Not fair to any buyers or these poor pups.
So sorry you had this sad experience.
If you choose to get another pup, please come back and we can advise you.

Goodness, I'm sorry about this....This obviously was not a responsible breeder....A good one would have given you a health certificate & would have offered help, not accusations....

Pretty much a back yard breeder....This puppy was already sick & completely infested with internal parasites....The other siblings are too & is the momma.....

This is all about the almighty buck & these kind of breeders care nothing about the dogs in their care....It's very easy to worm puppies, but she didn't spend the money to do so....

Without a contract or health certificate, etc, legally, I don't see you can do anything...However, you can get on social media & advertise to everyone, not to fall into the same heartbreaking trap as you did....If she is breaking breeding or kennel laws, you can file a complaint against her to your local police dept., Humane society, SPCA, etc....

However you found this puppy, others will too...Go to the advertisement you found and start there.....Spread the word....Let people know what this breeder is doing.....

Again, I'm so sorry for you and your puppy....Unfortunately, this is all too common and it's the new pet parents that suffer the consequences of heartbreak & financial expense because of a back yard breeder trying to make an unhonest dollar at the suffering of these poor animals!!!

Without a necropsy, there's no way to tell what really happened to  this puppy.....A heart defect would be my guess as a result of irresponsible breeding....There will be others here who will come by and share their thoughts...They will be much more knowledgeable on breeder's responsibilities than I am....I have never purchased a dog...

My heart goes out to you.....Karla
