RFID Chips in your cat or dog

I am wondering if anyone has found cancer or any type of tumor in their cat or dog near the location of their RFID (locator/Identification) chip.

Also, did the cancer spread to other areas, if cancer was found.

Thank you.

Oh -of course, I understand. You see in the UK, neither microchipping nor neutering/spaying is mandatory. You are somehow made to "feel you might be a thoughtless owner" if you do not get your pets chipped, and neutered/spayed, but you are not forced into either. I neither had my dog spayed nor microchipped. Of course she WAS spayed in the end because she developed a womb infection. I can see the possible health benefits of that....but the chipping? I always imagined it was to be able to quickly locate the owner in case of straying etc. I had heard of so many times a pet was quickly reunited because it had a chip.

I had no idea it was possible to track that pet's (and owner's) movements through the microchip, and I also had no idea it became "active" in any way, with radio-waves unless checked with a scanner. That is scary.
I understand more now about this. Gosh I live and learn!

Very well put.

"It is bad enough we are forced to have our animals fixed and now chipped.

If we allow this to go on what is going to stop from forced chips in humans?

Exactly!  Where is the line drawn?   Who draws the line?

I can believe the FDA approved it for humans and theoretically speaking believe our pets are nothing more than a free experimentation process to further their human chip process. Of course free to the Feds but not us. I was forced to have a chip placed in my pet that I adopted from a horrible shelter. Paid for the pet, found out she was extremely ill, had to bring her back to life cause she had blood coming out of her nose and yet the law was telling me I had to pay for this, that and the other.
It is bad enough we are forced to have our animals fixed and now chipped.

If we allow this to go on what is going to stop from forced chips in humans? We must stand our ground and remind these people we are in charge and without us they are unemployed.
Coincidentally I do not note any problems with the cats but how would I know?
The chip is placed behind the cats head in the neck region. Wherever you go with your pet.. everything is tracked. I took my cats to the Vet and they scanned her  and all this information came up. I don't feel they have anything to do with the pets getting lost. My cats have gotten lost and the chip was irrelevent in my finding my pet again.
I found a cat at one point and never took him to the Vet because I did not want them to cut off his .... and then put a chip inside him. It is as though breeders can do as they please but the average person who simply wants and loves animals are told no breeding. Sound familiar?

My Samson's chip is located on his back, between his shoulder blades.....I've never heard of them being put in the ear.....However, I guess they could be put anywhere.....Karla

Thanks for your comment.  The reuniting of pets with owners is wonderful, however I can't see why the chips can't be put into a collar.

I certainly wouldn't want one of these in my child, as the FDA approved these for use in humans.

I found information previously on pets with tumors at the location of the chip and just wonder how many people out there have a pet with a tumor close or in the vacinity of the chip.

Do you know where the chip is in your dog?  I had always heard of them being put into the ear.

I never heard of vaccines in the same location before.

The chips only heat up intermittently, when radio waves are strong enough to communicate, thus they are passive and not always on (active).  The heat, I believe is the issue which has caused some tumors.

The FDA approved these things for use in humans! (Nov 2004) Can you believe it?

I wonder, too....One of my crew is chipped (I was not the one that had it done). He's 7yrs old and I've had him over 3 yrs...He's never had any trouble with it....(That I know of!)

However, I have read of dogs having tumors, so called caused from the chip....I personally would lean towards the tumors being caused from Vaccines given at the same sight as the micro-chip is located.....Just my opinion......Karla

Strange....I have often wondered about this. After all it is a foreign body which has been introduced under the skin. Even though microchips re-unite so many lost dogs with their owners, who otherwise would be lost forever perhaps....
I have asked a number of people whose dogs have been microchipped, but all the answers I ever got was that the chip doesn't appear to cause any problems....
