Rabies shots

While looking through my records I noticed my female pug is due for her rabies shot...She is pregnant and almost ready to give birth...is it ok to give her the shot now.

No, do not give the shot now. Assuming she is not exposed to possible situations where she may get rabies, best to wait until she has weaned the puppies.

I agree, it may be more dangerous to give her the vaccine while she is pregnant. However, it's not just rodents you need to worry about in terms of carrying the disease. Depending on where you live, bats (especially ones that are out during the day and getting close to people) are a huge risk for rabies, as are some other common animals such as raccoons, so be mindful of those ones as well :)

Thank you for the information.  I will wait until the puppies are weaned. Luckily it is not the time of year here for the rodents to be out and about....Not ever had any problems with them but I try to be safe.  thanks again.

I would NOT!!!  Since Vaccines reek havoc on the Immune System, this would not be a good time to be injecting her.....I would also wait till the puppies are weaned.....Karla
