Rescued mom and pups update!

Rescued mom and pups update!

Since so many of you have been kind and curious about these wonderful pups and momma dog I figured I would give an update.  The vet finally cleared pups for adoption so I adopted out 4 pretty much right away. Don't worry I throughly questioned people before they left my home plus charged them a small rehoming fee since most people that would pay for a dog will care for them better.

Anyway, I am down to 3 puppies smoky, princess, and chocolate (don't ask kids named them) and of course Momma dog (delilah) .  Recently I noticed the puppies scratching and digging at them selves constantly so again off to the vet we went, but now I have a new vet. He is no longer in practice but still helps animals he has seen for years and this lady called him for me about Delilah and pups so that I wouldn't have to pay so much to treat them.  He basically charges me for the supplies he uses. I love this old man and can tell he does it for the love of the animals now!

Anyway, the puppies have scarcoptic mange again!!!!! So move shots of ivartein(sp?) and cream to apply to the more itchy areas.  He also wants me to give them all vitamins, to help their immune system. What I have learned from all this is unhealthy or malnurished animals are more likely to contract mange and since these pups had a rough first 4 weeks and who knows how long momma has been unhealthy we have to boost up their immune before we can finally stop this from happening. It doesnt' help that we have a pack of stray dogs down the road that no longer have hair from mange. I HATE LIVING IN THE COUNTRY!!!!

So with these three warming their way into my heart and the kids getting so attached it looks like I will have 5 dogs!

Oh yeah, I called all the owners that I have given other's too to make sure they were still doing okay and they are doing great! One of them is suppose to be sending me pictures in an email. I will post as soon as I get!
