Rottie female swollen hard neck lymph nodes; normal blood work

Question: Rottweiler female three plus years old came into my care at dog rescue with swollen, hard lymph nodes on neck and one swollen marble size axillary lymph node. Normal blood work. Vet recommended 300 mg Doxy once daily to see if that would reduce swelling. Logic? Could I safely give Zhen Ren Huo Ming Yin to bring down swelling or should aspirate and check if malignant first?
