Tick problem

Tick problem

My boyfriend has two big labs in a big back yard full of grass, and he has a horrible tick problem.  The dogs are covered in them.  He sparys his back yard regularly, gives them flea and tick baths as often as he is allowed to, cleans their beds they sleep on in the garage and even blows out and sparys their garage.  But after all that, they still have ticks.  Any advice on how to get rid of them?

If Frontline is ineffective try Preventic Collar and use K-9 Advantic.  Brush them daily.

I can vouch for the Preventic.  We used to live in a heavily wooded area, and the dogs were infested with ticks.  One collar kept all the ticks off for at least 4 months (although the packages says they are effective for only 3 months).  You have to get this collar from a vet, usually.  Sometimes you can buy it from a pet supply website.

I've had good experience with Frontline, the type you squeeze onto the fur between the the dogs shoulder blades. We have a ton of woods, so used to have really bad ticks.

Also, as far as the tick spraying, your boyfriend might want to switch brands. I've found it's almost seasonal which brand seems to work, like they build a resistance to them. One brand worked great for me and then the next year didn't work at all, so I switched, and so on. I tried a totally new brand this year, and have had almost zero ticks.
