Ticks

Has anyone had any luck with any of the lawn treatments that supposedly get rid of ticks? I used a brand a couple of years ago that isn't sold anymore, but it worked great. I have a lot of woods around my house, so ticks are a big problem. Just curious if anyone else has used any of these products and had success.

Hi,
Have you tried spraying pyrethrin? You need to double the concentration since it is meant for termites. If you get them in the spring you will be able to enjoy  the summer.
Good Luck.

I just read your question today and have had similar concerns. Do not use harsh chemicals on your lawn as they may harm you dog and have ill effects long term. A more natural approach is to spray EcoExempt IC2 on your lawn. It is safe for children and pets. This botanical is made from Rosemary, Peppermint and Wintergreen oils. Here is the link to manufacturer/product site: http://legacy.ecosmart.com/professional/
Choose ECOEXEMPTIC2 under their QUICK PRODUCT FINDER.  I have been using this product for a couple years now and it works like a charm to protect you and your pets. There have been no ticks from our yard since I've been using this product. Our pest control service applies the product for us but I believe you can also purchase and spray it yourself. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
