URGENT. Parvo in previous dog, new dog was fully vaccinated but seems she may have it.

Hi I had a pup with parvo only a few months ago. I got a new puppy for a wedding present. We got here where parvo wasnt a big risk. We made sure she woudl be completely covered for parvo when we took her home. We have been home for 3 weeks now and my pup (4.5 months) puked this morning (not liquidy) and now has slight diarrhea. She ate her lunch slower than she usually does but I did give her a bit of rice between breakfast and lunch to help her digestion.

Is it possible she could have it. Its not full blown or even half as bad as my pup when he first showed signs.

I remember your post awhile back.    I definately think it is a possiblity even though your vet told you if she had her shots she couldn't get it.    Our vet had informed us that we must wait 1 year before bringing a puppy into the house again.  Parvo is very sustainable and can live up to a year inside and outside.  It is not affected by hot or cold temperatures.

She puked again this evening. Puked up alot but we called the vet who has all her records and they said there is no way it could be parvo. They said possibly she ate something. his is possible cuz the garbage is really full and she has been sticking her head in it lately. She puked about 2 hours ago. The vet said to still give her a small dinner. the first 2 bits were played with and she took a while, then she ate it all up quick like normal but chewing it fairly well. If she isnt completely back to normal in the morning Im taking her to the vet, and not the vet we took our last dog to.

Just an update. This morning she was more spunky than last night. She kept all her dinner down and so far breakfast. She had a normal poop this morning. When she first got up she woudlnt drink but now she drinking her normal amount. Maybe she just had the flu like the rest of us.

It doesn't sound quite like Parvo, but as long as your vet is CERTAIN about there being no danger, I guess he knows?
Parvo usually is devastating, and doesn't (as far as I know) start with symptoms, then get better, then come back again. It sets in quickly, with vomiting and diarrhea (with a horrible smell, like something dead) sometimes passing and vomiting blood. Collapse, especially in a young pup, would come quite quickly without expert treatment.
I can't diagnose, at this diatance without seeing your pup, and even then, I am not a vet....but I am almost sure this isn't Parvo.

Pups do get upset tummies, they eat stuff they really shouldn't. That is fairly common. The only danger with that is either: they eat something which gets stuck and causes a blockage inside, or: they vomit too often, and get dehydrated. Pups can easily get dehydrated, so if she vomits frequently, don't hesitate to take her either to the vet or to ER.

And........Get a garbage can with a tight fitting lid.

Thanks Ginger. She is back to normal. She did drink A LOT of water before she got sick, now not as much but shes not dehydrated. She only puked that one day so shes doing good. Still super playful. And I know its not parvo now, just had a freak moment cuz my last pup had it. Thanks so much!
